Happy New Year

The only family pic that was approved for social media by "Homeland Security."

What kind of New Year are you going to have?  We all like to say "Happy New Year," but how long does the cheer last?  How much happiness is there?  I saw a FB message from my oldest sister this morning that really resonated with me.  Click here for a full link.  For those of you who prefer the Reader's Digest version, here goes:

The best resolution you can make today is to "be kind."  Sounds simple, right?  What about those times when we're confronted with difficult situations involving loved ones?  If you're like me, these are the times when kindness vanishes.  Loved ones know how to push our buttons.  Acts of kindness are hardest to practice with those difficult people in our lives who evoke our anger, frustration, disappointment, or the whole range of other painful emotions that make us human.

Thank you, sister, for inspiring the first story of 2018.  Have a Happy New Year!
